Thanks Harold! Understand 100%..
I "saw" these in nothing but bright white which is how they visually appeared as I passed by. It was a gloomy, very humid hot day that had a haze from a passing shower....they stood right out in the gloom.
I thought about Burnt out (or blown out) highlights are effective because they inject emotional mood, "they stood right out against a deep green grass bg" and the moody cloudy gloom of early morn and realistically mimic how human eyes experiences extreme light....in this case "blown out whites".
