At this point I'm shooting dng only for myself, and I shoot a tweaked version of Leica's monochrom jpeg on my sl2 and sl2s when I'm working an event (raw+jpeg) because they need so little that they give me the possibility of a great B&W set for clients. If I'm shooting for myself I'll save the extra space and do b&w conversion in silver efex or directly in photolab.
Regarding storage, my Macbook (m1 max) has 4tb on board so I have approx 2.5 tb allotted there for my current year; I also do automatic backups to a nas in my home, plus backblaze continuous cloud backups. I also keep off site copies of everything on the nas in two separate locations, so barring the zombie apocalypse or a large meteor strike, something will make it (possibly).
