I used to shoot my Leica lenses on Nikons and Sonys. TBH it's not worth it. Optically, I couldn't compare because I don't own a digital M. But the shooting experience was completely different vs a film Leica. Honestly, when I want manual focus, I much prefer the native Voigtlanders because they're chipped and communicate focus and focal length to a body, making them far more convenient. After about a year, I sold my M/E and M/Z adapters.
