This belted kingfisher was on our deck inside of the glass panels. We did not hear anything hit our main window or the inside of a panel. The kingfisher was just sitting there, for how long I don't know before I saw it. After a few minutes it escaped through the small space between the deck and bottom of a panel. Fledgling kingfishers are just starting to appear at our ponds with a parent.
