- Despite the small linear pixel increase over my A7RV, the images show noticeably more detail in subjects and I’m very pleased with what I’m seeing in the files.
- There is an obvious and inaccurate color cast to my LCD monitor on playback compared to the EVF, I’ll need to get into the menu and see if I can tweak the monitor color.
- The EVF experience is wonderful to me, big, bright, and highly detailed. I especially enjoy reviewing images through the EVF, it almost feels like looking at a print. This is something I missed when shooting the Z8.
- Sony bodys without a grip plate attached are too small for me, my pinky has nowhere to go. I’ll be glad when Smallrig has their baseplate available. I’m also going to try the Sony vertical grip.
- I’m happy to have the illumination button as I’ve had on a few Nikons. The setting allowing 3 different levels of brightness is a nice touch. Those who don’t want this can have an extra customized button.
- Battery life so far (and from reports) seems excellent. A few hours at the zoo along with reviewing and pixel peeping used only 11%.
Below is a cropped & processed image (about 20% of the linear width cropped out), then 100% pixel view. I don’t know how these uploads will translate in this post but viewing on my MPB the files are extremely detailed, sharp, and satisfying.
