I did notice in general Peru was a lot "louder" and brighter than the US. I wonder why that came to be.

My understanding is that colonialism in S.America caused the use of bright, pastel colors are frequently used in warm climates to reflect sunlight, keeping building interiors cooler and just plain "loud" colors.. Locally sourced natural paint pigments also influenced colors.

Just FYI..I was a History major and taught US History for 1 year.
