I don’t have the 23mm f/2.8, but I use the 27mm f/2.8 which uses the same (or similar?) round hood.
The tiny hoot is part of what I like about the lens. I don’t need a larger square (ahem, rectangular) hood for this little lens, and I don’t see the advantage of making the package larger.
I feel different about some of the other lenses, like my 23mm f/2.8, where the Fujifilm options are a pretty large “petal” hood or the rectangular metal hood. I also like the rectangular hood on the 35mm f/1.4 — it is pretty small for an f/1.4 lens.
