I've seen these birds at Wakodahatchee Wetlands many times but never really knew what they were. Yesterday a knowledgeable looking birder with binoculars and a logbook (makes him an expert to me) told me this was a variant of the Great Blue Heron, only found in this area. Certainly isn't blue.
