Overall the camera is in wonderful physical condition, there is just one exception. On occasion, there is a delay from when the shutter button is pressed and when the picture is taken. It could be a fraction of a second, up to 1/2 second. It happens on occasion (and sometimes more often than other times) and I have no idea why. I'm not shooting any sports or moving subjects with it, so not a big deal to me. But it is something I have to disclose. That's the only reason for the 8 rating.
I'd rate the lens an 8+. It definitely shows signs of use and does have a little internal dust and usage marks. It does perform well with this camera from about 24 to 60mm. At the extreme ends, it's soft on the edges but that's just IR for you.
