This duck has been the talk of the town among the bird watchers and nature photographers here in Eastern Queens, NYC for the past few months. I heard it on every outing and it was spotted at either Oakland Lake or Kissena Park as it appeared to be flying between the two lakes and I was always at the other one. Well the other day when I was at Oakland Lake there it was, hanging out with all the other Wood ducks in a location full of trees and bushes in the water. The bank was very muddy so I knelt down getting as low as possible without kneeling. I photographed him for about 30 minutes inorder to get some mostly clean shots that I then cleaned up in post. I hope you enjoy seeing this surprisingly pretty male leucistic Wood duck who was singing a good part of the time I photographed him.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
