Tethering with most manufacturers is FAR more effort to get working properly than it should be. Wls only makes the issue worse.
Those concerned obviously don’t view it as a priority otherwise they’d devote more than an afterthought to it - whereas folks like (digital) Hasselblad or Phase have grown up w/tethered work and see it as a key checklist item.
Just look at the lack of ‘graceful’ OEM tether cable locks or even the location of USB-C slots with some cameras.
Ok, bitching over, I’ve been running the following ‘hubs’ on two iPads tethering Sony A1s with Area 51 and NineVolt cables with zero issues - usually charging with V-mount batteries. It allows charging while tethered, HDMI in or out, etc. Nice and small and light.
I don’t even attempt going wireless - you can get it working ‘ok’ 10’/10 times at home in testing and 15 minutes on location it goes belly-up. Not worth the hassle or wasted time on location.
