FS: Leica M3 SS Black Repaint, 50mm Summicron v5, Minolta 40mm f2
Item 1: Leica M3
First up is an M3 that has been repainted black. I picked this up last April at a local shop where it was on consignment. I handled a large number of M2 and M3 bodies before I found this one, and picked it because the feel of the film advance was just so smooth.
Shutter speeds are accurate and the rangefinder is calibrated well. The shutter itself is in excellent condition and there are no light leaks or pinholes. No delamination or other issues with the optics of the rangefinder.
There is some brassing which I did my best to catch in the photos. This is most apparent along the top edges of the camera and around the front openings.
This is a very nice camera and I am reluctant to part with it. Priority goes to a buyer who wants the body and one of (or both) of the lenses. Reducing my collection and this has seen less use than it deserves.

IDS Works Arca-Swiss grip with g10 handle
Pop photo film rewind knob in black
KEKS M-meter in black painted brass (includes instructions but box is missing, will include if I find it)
Match Technical soft release
Rock N Roll straps ‘Riviera’ leather strap in all black

No haze, fungus, delamination or cleaning marks present. No oil on the aperture blades. Functions extremely well and is wonderfully sharp. Good solid clicks on the aperture ring and well damped focusing.
Cosmetically the lens is in great shape, but there are areas of brassing along the focus ring which is typical in my experience.

This is the late version with the better coatings than earlier production runs. Tiny, razor sharp, and great ergonomics.
A previous owner altered the mount to pull up 35mm lines instead of the default 50mm lines on a standard 0.72x finder. Never bothered me in practice, but this has a different effect on the M3 where it pulls up both the 50mm and 90mm lines.
Includes Minolta front cap and a generic rear cap
I also added the hood from Squarehood. This includes the original box, plus two front caps and some extra tiny set screws and screwdriver.
