Yes, I here rumors of a Leica MF camera coming. However this Phase One /C1 collaboration has me a bit concerned about what will actually be coming. If it is just a slightly altered Phase One Leica branded camera I am not as interested as I would be if it was an in house developed camera.
These Leica branded versions of others products has always made me a bit uncomfortable. Examples are Leica branded Sigma lenses at 3 or 4 times the price. Leica branded Panasonic cameras (another such camera rumored to be coming soon)and lenses at much higher prices. Hard to imagine that Leica can sell basically rebranded Phase One cameras and lenses at significantly higher prices than Phase one does. The aggressive pricing from Fuji and Hasselblad on very nice medium format gear has significantly lowered the cost of this format.
Selling mostly brand rather than unique in house developed and manufactured products just feels somehow offensive to me.
Surely this is the new Leica S-System camera?
