Re: Your thoughts on qualtiy+compact film camera vs x100vi/Fuji apsc digital

Definitely makes sense to actually try film and see if I can get results from a lab that I like before yolo'ing into a $5K mp. I'll be sensible, thank you all. Can get a little nutty.

I've been looking for a cheaper film camera based on the suggestions. I'm seeing quite a few pentax mx + 50mmf1.7 for sale but I don't think a single one has said the light meter is working, might be a bit too old.
Nikon F80 there's only one and no comment on the light meter but it's newer I think.

Will try and look into it some but I have a habit of over researching, just want a clean, affordable film camera with a working light meter and a faster 50 to test the waters.

@bjhurley thank you for the tip on the Ilford b+w, made a note for the Ilford XP2 400 and will refer back to your post.

@johnvanr I have tried a couple of software solutions but not extensively. I kept feeling like it was ... impersonating and that I was doing something wrong going so heavy on the post processing!

Would be nice to have something authentic ... but maybe getting the post processing right will end up being the answer. I'll do the song and dance and get the experience with film first, just feels like a funner way to spend my time than endless colour combinations and slider tweaking but will hold off on the MP, as much as I want to do something foolish.
