Re: TTArtisan 40mm f/2

^ I was checking the lightroom update since they mentioned adding new lense profiles and was dissappointed with what they added but it did mention something about adding your own there with a guide but I haven't looked at it in much detail.

I'm curious about distortion in general, it would need stronger correction at closer distance?

I think I read somewhere that there were two models for Sony rear lens cap, the one I've been getting is the ALC-R1EM.
Max 2 per customer (per month from what I've seen), from Amazon UK at least.[...]
I wish TTA's materials and build quality was a bit higher though. And a little tiny bit smoother bokeh, but I won't complain much for the size (and price).

There may be more than two "original" rear lens caps. The Nex APS-C cameras came first and then the lens caps were marked NEX. Then it was Sony. I'm sure the caps are made at several places. I also think it's hard to design a worse lens cap.

Well, the 40mm TTA is nice. I don't complain about the material for the price. Nice bokeh or any other optical feature not demanding extra expensive glass qualities should be included no matter the price. Yes, I like the TTA40 and it's not too small when used together with a larger camera either.

I haven't tried the TTA75 as I went with the Viltrox EVO 85 instead.

I like these small cheap lenses. As many, if not all, Sony lenses are made in China or Vietnam or some other low-cost country I hope the chinese producers can push the Sony's prices down.

Is there something in particular you don't like about the Sony rear lens cap - are you finding them coming off lenses often?
What's your go-to for the rear?

Hopefully with the Sony prices, most of my lenses are third party although it's less about the price as I'm okay going with imported/used lenses from Sony which can make a big difference on some lenses.
Having said that, I'm not seeing many third party offer weather sealing that would give peace of mind, and possibly still an auto-focus advantage (thinking of the 40mm f2.5 as I type this).
