Heavily invested in Leica M system, but getting the bug to start playing with either an X2D or X2D II. Would primarily be for landscape, but the images I see at slower speeds (1/2 second or so) handheld at night make it really interesting for walking around town. What is this groups thoughts on a X2D vs X2D II? Trying to decide if the II is worth it. I don’t care about AF speed, but the IBIS improvements are a huge nod towards the II for me. Not sure if the II has anything else going for it for my needs over the older model.

The difference in IBIS spec ... sounds good on paper, but the fine print suggests that it is with the 28mm (iirc) and in the center of the image (or something like that). That's not to take away from an improvement, but it may not be as radical an improvement as first blush might suggest.

That said, I'm pleased with the IBIS performance of my X2D with the 45P. I've had success with 1+ sec exposures. Technique included using with neck strap and maintaining tension of the neck strap. What difference would X2D II vs. X2D make ... I can't speak to that, but I'm not compelled to get the X2D II for the IBIS difference.

As to the AF, I'm presently limited to just my 45P (and glass matters wrt AF), so until I get additional glass that is well suited toward AF performance, I don't know where I sit on the AF aspect of the X2D.

Here's a crop from 0.5 sec using ISO 64 and f/6.8 (models PP edits).
