Re: Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports Image Thread

I got antsy to shoot after my Siggy was delivered yesterday and didn't wait for the Friday football game to try it out - shot Thursday soccer alternating the Nikon 200mm f2 VRII and the Sigma. I handheld each of them, the Nikkor on a D850 and the Siggy on a Sony A1. These are cropped and post processed. I added a couple of previously shot football photos with the D850 to this mix. I'm not a professional reviewer so this is just my experience.

Practically speaking for my usage, the Sigma 200 f2 is a clear winner due to the weight difference. But it's sharp and responsive.

Portrait photographers have tons of other options so I'm not sure why the 200 f2 Siggy would be for that purpose. But if you have plenty of money burning a hole in your pocket, who am I to say what you decide to spend it on?
