Anyone tried Zeiss Batis (esp 85/1.8) on Nikon Z camera?

I had both it and the Nikon 85 at the same time, the Nikon 85F1.8S is sharper with better color, but it's also much bigger.
This has been debunked and is misleading at best. A Wikipedia source states that the lens designer is Takahiko Sakai, who also works for Tamron. That doesn't mean that it is a Tamron lens. Heck, it could even be that Zeiss liked the design so much that they licensed the design from Tamron and/or this Sakai person. It may have been a collaboration. None of us knows for sure. And this is not even uncommon in the world of lens design and production. I'd assume Zeiss specified the optical formula, coatings, and mechanical designs, quality control, etc. I am not even sure that Zeiss manufactures all of their own lenses - a fair amount uses sub-contractors, just like the Swiss watch industry, etc. But I wouldn't call a Zeiss Batis lens a Tamron lens (not that there is anything wrong with Tamron lenses).
