The last time I used a Canon lens using the Sigma MC-11 was on an A9 body. It wasn't ideal for tracking but it did semi-okay for largish birds, like Sandhill cranes. In general though, the newer the camera body, the better the AF performance and that works only to a certain degree. Your best bet, although it goes without saying, is to use a native Sony lens.
