Firmware Page8 #14

? I did not read it's better on Nikon Z body...

The 20250811 firmware is for E-mount lenses only.
I heard the Z-mount version doesn't need any new firmware. I hope that is correct.

I've been using this E-mount firmware and I think it's great. I知 surprised TTArtisan hasn't released an official version yet...maybe they're still working on it. No rush TTA, take your time; I'm already very happy with this beta 20250811 firmware you emailed Jonas!

Of course, sharing is caring and all that... I'm happy with the 20250811 as well. Maybe TTA has other ideas they want to try before releasing v03? Time will tell.

I'm interested in updating the firmware to the version Jonas has provided, but I haven't been able to get my computers to recognize the lens as a USB drive so that I can install the firmware. I've tried it on both a Mac and a Windows PC. I've tried repeatedly plugging and unplugging the cable. I've tried pressing the lens cap down with my palm. I've tried different cables. Nada. No recognition.

Anyone else have this problem?

Any suggestions?

Works on PC only. Just plug in the adapter via USB, open the drive folder, and drag the firmware file in...done.

Thank you for the help. I did try this on PC, but I did not see any drive folder appear. I will try again to see if I missed something. Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place for the drive folder; or, per TTArtisan's instructions, I needed to try unplugging and plugging it a few more times before giving up.

Hey Chiron,
Other possible problems may be the cable and how you connected it.
Make sure you have a proper USB cable. Some cables are for power delivery only while "proper" ones can transfer power and data.
When connecting the cable make sure you push it all the way in. There is a pressure point (USB-C) and you have to push the cable to get pass it and make connection.

[EDIT: IGNORE MOST OF WHAT i WROTE BELOW. I HAVE GOTTEN THE FIRMWARE TO UPDATE AND THE FOCUSING IS MUCH BETTER WITH THE @Jonas B PROVIDED FIRMWARE. APOLOGIES FOR THE MISLEADING POSTS]

Well, I've tried everything, including more usb cords and also having someone with excellent computer expertise try to get the lens to connect, with no success, The rear lens cap on my copy has a slight jiggliness even when tightened--perhaps the contacts are not making a good connection. That might be the problem, but I have wasted a lot of time and effort at this point.

The lens is going back. With the older firmware, the AF focusing is very unreliable and regularly fails to capture the eye in Eye-AF, even when it is lighting the little green box over the eye to confirm focus. I can't update the firmware. The rendering is lovely, and if the AF and firmware updating worked, I would keep the lens. Maybe in six months they'll have things sorted out. But for now it is not useable for me. Sort of amateur hour.
