Now I must say that both of them are very nice. I was especially interested in the long end of the 70-300L, and it is even better there wide open than 70-300IS, 70-300DO and 100-300L at f/8. Except the weight, good times ahead.

The only lens I bought new was the 70-300L as at the time canon were doing incredible deals on price and also offering 2yrs 0% too

The lens itself is fabulous, however after I bought the larger 100-400Lii my 70-300 has not been use much…if at all. But I will never part with it. Used prices are a joke, can’t understand why more don’t buy it. Weather sealed and metal bodied not to mention 5.6 max aperture!! It makes the expensive RF consumer tat look like daylight robbery in comparison.
