After a few days in Custer State Park, SD we saw only a few buffalo. Then we spotted a huge herd filling the parry that had stunning colors of vegetation and soil. I was shooting into the sun and the sky was smokey and there was also heat shimmy. I shot a panorama and then drove up an access road to get another angle. While I got better angles for the light it was not as an attractive view so I'm showing you the panorama. If you think this is a lot of buffalo, just think how many parry dogs must be in that same photo! We returned to the Wildlife Drive and came to a traffic standstill. Another huge herd was crossing the road. I took a photo of the herd lined up as they came into my view just after crossing the road. I was like watching a long freight train traveling slowly past a rail road crossing. All you could do was wait yet it was great fun to watch and take photos.
