Very impressed with the 28mm Apo Lanthar so far. I also have the 28mm/2 Summicron M ASPH version 2023, and the Apo Lanthar is better optically in most respects except minimum focus distance. It is "transparent" in its rendering , especially with respect to color, with very low secondary color in out of focus areas, and almost no color fringing on high contrast edges (such as strongly backlit leaves & branches against a bright sky). Here's a shot I really like from a recent steel drum band concert in our village, with kids playing with a bubble machine. This was f/4, 1/500s, ISO 800 on my M11-P.
