I bought a refurb ZF today (for the second time after selling the first), with the intent/goal of adapting my F mount glass (all MF).

I’d like to take advantage of the most focus aids it has to offer, wondering how to best approach this with adapters? from what I understand I’d need either F to E or Mount, then respectively to Z for this to work. would IBIS still work in this instance?

appreciate any help here

With F mount lenses you can just use the Nikon F to Z adapter. If the lenses have a cpu chip you will get focus aids, IBIS, and EXIF data. For unchipped lenses you can double up the adapters but I wouldn't add that extra hassle unless you have unchipped lenses. What specific lenses do you have?

I’ve got 24/35/50 AIS lenses, and a Voigtlander Color Skopar 75mm (also AIS). I’d definitely like to have focus aids and IBIS at play in these cases.

You might want to consider a Dumb F-mount to Leica M-adapter and this:

M to Z mount adapter. It allows you to set 28, 35, 75, and 90mm on the adapters with a simple dial. The camera will then correctly read the focal length for IBIS and you will get focus aids. If you don't want IBIS, then I think this is the way to go if you can live with your 24mm being recorded and treated for IBIS purposes as a 28mm lens.
