Nice one Dave! What type of salvia is this? I have salvias that look similar in color, mine is called "Salvia Amistad". I have 8 different types of salvias in my hummingbird flower bed/pots.
A few more.
Thanks. As for the salvia, I have no idea. I get my hummingbirds shots in a city park. The hummingbirds love the purple and blue salvia. The flower garden is fairly large, and I'll probably spend a good amount of time there in the coming weeks.
A lot of the plants have tags, I'll look the next time I go.
***EDIT***
The sign by the Salvia read's "ANNUAL Salvia splendenss 'Amistad" Friendship Sage"
Hope that helps. If gets to 3-4 feet tall, the hummingbirds typically 'climb the ladder' meaning they start low and work
all the way up the plant.
