Re: Your lens collection--How many, etc.? | |
I started to get into adapting manual focus lenses when I moved from DSLR (Canon 5DmkII) to Sony NEX-6 in 2012, and later to Sony A7R in 2013 etc. Tokyo has a lot of shops that sell used lenses at nice prices etc. and I got into trying many different lens lines and buying more and more gradually, without selling too many. I just sell lenses when I need some funds to buy new ones, and the candidates to be sold must have reasonable trade-in value.
Later on I started to focus on compact mirrorless cameras with A7C, A7CII, Sigma fp, Fujifilm X-S10 and those need to be paired with compact lenses for best effect so I got a lot of smallest possible lenses for those systems (including adapted tiny rangefinder lenses).
I'm slowing down with lens purchases and I'm mainly still on the lookout for any new Voigtländer lenses in native E and X mounts, as well as for any new releases from MS-Optics and Kistar as I'm a fan of those small companies that are making exciting character lenses in small volumes with a lot of craftmanship at play. I haven't bought new AF lenses in a while, my existing options cover basically everything I need with AF.
