Much to soon to draw any real conclusions but from what I saw yesterday thinking that you can use this lens reliably at 1200mm effective FL is folly. I kinda knew that going in. IMHO, If you need that long of a focal length, you're simply too far away from your subject. Yes, you can get the shot but that's about it. My hope is this lens will turn out to be a little better than my Olly 100-400 in the 400-500mm range where I can fill the frame. We'll see.
