Portrait lens for Leica SL? You might consider the TTARTISAN AF 75mm F2.
I recently bought a Leica SL2-S after my very positive experience with the Leica Q3 43. I also bought a used SL 24-90 (amazing) and the 90mm Summicron 2.0 pre-asph.
I wanted another portrait lens that wasn't so expensive and had autofocus. Since the TTARTISAN was very affordable in Germany at around €180 (now down to €230), I thought I'd give it a try. What can I say? I really like it.
I've heard/read a few reviews online that said it has Leica charm and is very good. And yes, what can I say: it's true.
I bought a 50mm prime lens from TTARTISAN for a Sony E-mount a year ago. They also said it was at least good (manual lens). I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality, but the image quality had far too many drawbacks for me, so I quickly returned it.
The 75mm AF 2.0, however, is a no-brainer in my opinion. Not just because of the price (what good is cheap lens on a Leica if I don't like the results?), but because it produces beautiful photos (to my eye).
Ah, alsmost forgot to say: 75mm work so well as a portrait forcal lenght. Loved it with the iconic Pentax FA 77mm 1.8 Limited. Hasn't changed, so useful.

I'm just a snapper, so I just took a few photos with it to see how I liked the results. Edited in Capture One (surprisingly little, I like it a lot out of camera (as DNG). All images taken at wide open aperture. I've heard that the AF on the TTARTISAN could be improved. That may be true, but for what I want to use it for, i.e. spontaneous portraits, it should work very well. If I have any other experiences, I'll let you know.
