The GR III cameras definitely check the boxes for high quality and portability. An appropriate $20 external viewfinder can go a long way towards mitigating the viewfinder issue--and Ricoh makes nicer and much more expensive external viewfinders, too. (I enjoy the GR IIIx when I want to emphasize portability, and I'm now comfortable using just the screen, even in bright light.)
