4. Zoom & Focus: Contrary to some reports, the lens allows continuous focus while zooming, which is excellent for tracking action.
This is very interesting, several reviewers mentioned the inability to zoom and focus at the same time, if possible can you do the same test on the Sony body ?
If it does not work on the Sony then this may be another example of Sony handicapping 3rd party lenses, and does open the question of whether other aspects of focusing are being limited.
I was surprised by this as well. I was initially concerned the lens is parfocal, as some reviews mentioned that you have to reacquire autofocus after changing the focal length. However, that hasn’t been the case with the Nikon Z9—I’ve been able to maintain focus while zooming in and out without any issues. I haven’t tested this on a Sony body yet, but I plan to do so later this week.

I was surprised by this as well. I was initially concerned the lens might be pre-focal, as some reviews mentioned that you have to reacquire autofocus after changing the focal length. However, that hasn’t been the case with the Nikon Z9—I’ve been able to maintain focus while zooming in and out without any issues. I haven’t tested this on a Sony body yet, but I plan to do so later this week.
