Years ago Chandler asked me if I’d take him up in the Cub to watch the sun rise. I checked the weather for the next day and it was perfect. He spent the night and we rolled out to the hangar at 5 am. My Buddy Brian Martin was opening the tower when we taxied out at 6. He loved Chandler and shared the experience with us via the radio. I did the multiple sunrise trick for Chandler and he was mesmerized by the whole experience. I promised James the same flight in the near future. The Cub is such a magical aircraft for experiences like that, whether you are six, or 76.
Air Traffic Control in this area is a disaster Jim!!!!
DC-Reagan is the real problem. The airport is not situated in a good area for multi style aircraft.
I have noticed a 90% decrease in military air traffic on the "flyway" from DC/MD/VA to Camp David and our military sites here. The "NOTAM" alerts have increased 100% since the tragedy last Winter.
Is your nephew still in the military?
Not gud!
