Thanks Paul. That's always the slippery slope, right ? The key to this lens is filling the frame, I believe. And I'm not saying every shot needs to be a closeup, the same goes for environmentals. Heavy cropping is where it begins to fall apart compared to it's more expensive competitors.

absolutely. i'm very often guilty of over-salting with the sharpening...and I know better
i've read somewhere that after we've processed an image we should leave it for a while and then go back to it later for a final look before posting it or printing it or whatever we might do with it. i don't have that much patience...it's processed then saved for print or posting.
i'm guessing that some of the sharpening issues/artefacts(very minor issues at that) here at FM may be that the poster has sharpened for PC monitor viewing or smart phone viewing where the same image posted here looks great on a smart phone but over-sharpeneed on the PC monitor.
