Re: Rumored "Exclusive First specs of the new Lumix S1rII"

It is 3:2 sensor but not stacked.

Looks like read out speed is about 1/26s in 14 bit. Not great but usable. Similar to SL2 speed but faster than SL3. They might be able to offer E shutter read out at 1/60S at 12 bit mode. Edit: only at 33M output. I would assume this is reserved for video. (S9 default to 12 bit?) Which is good enough for most daily shooting. (similar to Z6III)

8K in 12 bit mode can do 60fps video.
I am curious on dynamic range of this sensor. I expect it should be on par with D850, Z7 or A7R4 level.

Too bad SL3S didnt use this one. I feel it is better than 24M in every way.

That's kinda where I has hoping to see the SL3-S. I was thinking the 40MP size from the M10R / M10M would be a nice bump, but with BSI.

Not sure how keen I am (or not) yet about the stacked sensor thing (IQ, etc.), but time will tell.

I do think 40-44MP Leica SL3-S would have been very enticing. But here we are with Panasonic running off with that Goldilocks MPs idea. The rest of the alleged S1rII specs look good too.

It is nice to see L mount get a stacked sensor camera. They can be very useful for some types of shooting and that combined with some of the new long Sigma lenses (e.g., 500 f/5.6, 800 f/6.3) might make it a very viable option even for wildlife shooters. Events shooters will probably really like this camera too.

I think it works out well that Leica brings the higher MP, but non-stacked SL-3, while Panasonic brings this 44 MP stacked sensor camera, and Sigma brings some pretty compelling lenses. To me that really shows the strength of having the L mount alliance, making it a system that can work for a lot of people.

Just curious, and if this is the S1rII's sensor data, do you or anyone else know what description/specs on this IMX366AJK sensor product catalog flyer describe a stacked sensor or not? I don't see any mention of "stacked" in the text.
