I don't use in-camera cropping modes, but a 65x24 "x-pan style" crop could be kind of a fun tool to play with. It should be doable in 40 megapixels -- the resulting image would be, what, about 22 megapixels? That's more than enough resolution for almost anyone, notwithstanding the multitude of excellent upscaling software available today. I've been playing around with Topaz AI and it's quite impressive as far as noise reduction/sharpening/enlargement is concerned.
