Once again, I am here because I want to buy, once more, a digital Leica M-mount camera. Not to write things against the brand, or so. Yes, I do think that, for the price paid, a Leica should have a very low failure rate and a very good after sales service. Which, based on what Leica users say, it is not the case. I do not have experienced these things, they were written on forums by Leica users, not by Leica non-users. I am aware of this issues and, instead of negating them, I want to take them into consideration and be ready to deal with them. As simple as that, from my side. I don't want to stick my head into sand, and pretend I am buying into the "perfect M system".

I hope you don't mind if I strongly dissagree here: the rangefinder does not guarantee anything, not even the simplest thing that you have removed your lens caps from the front of your lens. If one wants garantees, in my book, this is done by seeing exactly what the sensor sees. And it sees everything: exposure, depth of focus, plane of focus, flares, and so on - it makes the lens focus shift a non-issue. Just add to this that, in some cases (reported by real Leica users) one needs to get the camera's rangefinder specifically calibrated with each of the lenses he/she uses in order to get correctly focused pictures (and this is even more crucial as the MPx count goes up), so this makes the rangefinder system a bit less of a guarantee that one will gets the pictures ones envisions. And we have not touched yet the paralax (correction) thing....
So please, I have used the M240 for 6 months and sold it in frustration, but I am willing to give it another try. Still, I don't buy this "guarantee" thing, or other similar to this ("you see who's entering your frame" - I really don't care, I shot mostly static subjects). If, for you, the rangefinder "guarantees" something, so be it. For me, I know its limitation, but I am willing (once more) to live with them (for how long, it should be seen).
