Larry, then I have a different opinion. I participated once in a shooting mimicking the 40s film noir B&W. There the MUA did wonders, she was the success factor.
But else I like young models and their facial characteristics as they are, not much makeup visible to me, well knowing that I'm as a man blind to the nuances of makeup. And yes, she made her own makeup, may be with the help of another model.
