Been to the South Coyote Buttes several times in the past, and always particularly loved the colors after sunset. With the softer light, the colors really jump out of the rock.
Because of that, I've been wanting to get a sunset shot at the Southern Wave for years now. Last week, finally pulled it off.
It was cloudy, windy, and drizzling rain, so no soft sunlight in the sky. Luckily the rain was coming from behind me, soaking the back of my camera but leaving my lens clean. The wet rock also showed the color a little more, making up for the lack of clear sky.
I'm planning on getting this printed on large acrylic (probably 30x20") so if there's any C&C, nitpicks or adjustments you would recommend, please let me know!
