MY Apple 27” iMac has a 27” diagonal Retina 5K display with an overall resolution of 5120pixels x 2880pixels.
The first image below is 1600 pixels wide.
The second one is 5184 pixels wide.
And these look the same, in terms of their dimensions, on my 3840x2160 BenQ SW271C monitor.
The 5184 pixel photo covers the same width as the 1600 pixel photo.
(my browser is Safari, macOS Sequoia v 15.1)
