Yes that's exactly what I was dealing with. I had to flip the battery in and out a few times for it to work. And yes I had to constantly keep it from sleeping or I would get the message again. I kept on pressing the back button autofocus to keep it from going in to sleep mode. I missed a lot of shots because of this. I had same issues with both the bodies!
