Interesting. I think of pre-capture as more useful for wildlife than sports. How/when would you use it for hockey?
I was a sports photographer before a bird photographer and there are always times where I'm tracking a player and someone moves into the frame from nowhere when using a longer lens (70-200) and I hit the shutter button instantly and still miss the contact.
Yesterday it dawned on me in the hockey rink that pre-capture would be just what the doctor ordered.
Luckily I pre-ordered the R1 with B&H about 10 minutes after it was released.
