What's the difference between the 135 Sport and the 135U? I know there is also a 120 version but that's for another thread.
The Sport is the bottom of the barrel version. I think the U has a built in level in the VF - which is awesome (I had to glue a level onto the top of the vf) - and extended shutter speeds. The Sport only goes down to 1/30 sec.
I had the 120 version for two rolls of film. A complete beast and you only get three or four shots per roll! (I forget) It was too big, too ungainly and too silly to use, so I sold it soon after.
I was looking at the Noblex just for fun and noticed the big difference in price. The Sport looks like a good deal for an occasional use, specialty camera. Apparently, it doesn't make enough noise to scare the dogs.
I am completely happy with my Sport, it was serviced by Precision Camera Works who installed new rubber rollers, and it works great. I use it as a daylight handheld camera, so 1/30 sec is plenty slow enough. Like all gear, you have to use it or exercise it occasionally so the mechanism stays healthy.
Nice comparison w the Widelux here. You can see the image is significantly wider with the Noblex:
