Just magnificient, vibrant and colorful images Ross! My most favorite time of year!!!
I agree with your anxiety sentiment but usually post them anyway whether others comment or not. I am really "thee" only one that must be pleased BUT I enjoy that I may have please others!

My anxiety comes when I cannot get to where I want, via a Star Trek transporter, and then haven't allowed enogh time to get those photos!

We have had a terrible summer! Not much rain and brutal heat and humidity! Many trees have already "dumped" their leaves and some of the colorful hardwoods(maples, oaks) are turning too soon!
Have fun!
Dan

Great comment Dan, thank you! I agree that shooting to make yourself happy is the way to go. That is the only reason why I’m driven to get out and see, experience, create. Years ago I was shooting to make editors happy and that eventually got old and unfulfilling.

Sounds like your area is suffering quite a bit from the drought. I’ve been watching the US Drought Map as it’s updated weekly and it really is bad in many places. I’m probably going to head to New Hampshire White Mountains later this week which has near normal water levels thankfully, but my usual trip to Blue Ridge and Smokies later in October may not happen due to the dry conditions.

Ross, the Blue Ridge and
Shenandoah Mts have had plenty of rain! The rain seems to get to a point where the Interstate splits South to Dc and East to Baltimore and we are missed!

Vermont is fantastic for Fall pictures!!!!
Good luck and will await your posts!
Good luck and have FUN!
Dan

Thanks Dan! The region of the Blue Ridge I normally shoot in later October is in North Carolina and there they are experiencing sections ranging from Abnormally Dry to Moderate Drought to Severe Drought (https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap.aspx). Maybe I will end up in Shenandoah area, I have shot there before but it’s been awhile. But first I’ll return to the White Mountains, I greatly enjoyed that in two previous years.

Suzanne and I go to Ashville, NC in early October-late October and the trees down Interstate 81 then East to NC are beautiful!

If wen enter NC from Tenn, the Smokies are beautiful and they have had mucho rain!
Have fun!
Dan
