Ok, I'll admit ignorance. My "The big D" search paired with the bad back context - is it degenerative disk disease? (that's three Ds), There is a TV show by that name, and other less likely answers. Glad you are back.

Back's been bothering me a lot, having to walk with a cane didn't help with the big D. Work won't let me use the cane, so I'm staggering around clutching equipment here and there.
Back isn't going to be getting better on its own, discs are unstable, and wander from time to time. I've decided, even without a second opinion from another doc, that I'm going to have to have the fusion surgery done. It also involves rods, screws, and cages to stabilize the spine so that the nerve bundle will have room, and the numbness, tingling, and pain might be resolved.
The one bid at work was up on the last bid cycle, now we wait to see who got it, hopefully someone who works, and shows up for work.
Enough of the pity party for me.
