No idea how the OP intends to use the system, but when I want the longer focal length reach or perspective, there are other systems I turn to. That's not to say the 250 or 500 wouldn't be useful at some point, it's just that I don't currently do work with my GF system that requires them; and so for me, the 100-200 more than adequately fills that need for now.

Usage patterns differ, but there are a lot of us who rely on long focal lengths for some of our landscape photography. I’m a big fan of 100-400 and similar zooms on full frame.

In my case, the primary issue that has held me back from moving to GFX is the lack of roughly comparable long zoom lenses for the system. I think that Fujifilm could sell a lot of, say, 200-400mm zooms compatible with their 1.4x TC, and that there are quite a few of us to whom they could sell bodies and complete systems if they did this.

This would hardly be a technical challenge given that the Canon 100-400 reportedly works decently with adapters. (Some overestimate the technical challenge, thinking of the older film MF systems that required lenses to work with much larger image areas than that of the 33 x 44 sensors.)

Primes are not the answer for me in my landscape photography. For decades is was “primes-only” for landscape, then moved to combining primes and zooms. Over the years I realized that zoom now produce excellent image quality and allow me greater compositional control while maintaining optimal image quality and framing without cropping in post.

YMMV
