Steve as you probably know with inflation, a very good burger($10.50) costs $20 with a small drink and fries here in Maryland. So a photo and a burger for 1 Euro is a REAL bargain!

Although food in Italy is now significantly cheaper than it is here, it is not that cheap. You can see the very reasonable Panini prices on the menu. I think the 1 Euro charge is on top of the burger price if you want a photo with the cook. My feeling is that is just a joke. I paid nothing for my photo and you can see how happy he was to have his picture taken.
Jokes are ok Steve! My family in Serrastretta joke about it all the time when I want food or remark about a pretty female food server!
And my wife carries a police baton in her purse!!!!
