Re: Manual Focus Nikon Glass

Pure magic. I love everything about this.

One of the places I stay at on my days off is where I was shooting the Aurora, this is the jetty from the 1st shots. It faces across Lake Wakatipu to Cecil Peak and I hauled my lazy ass outta my warm bed on Tuesday. It's a 10 minute walk from the van.

I caught a little colour at the van but by the time I got to the jetty it had gone. However the clouds had gaps in them that allowed the light through onto the peak and the breeze carrying the clouds provided an ever changing pattern.

I thought I'd also try a long exposure to smooth out the lake surface and found out that the clouds were moving fast enough for this pleasing effect. I had a CPL, 10 stop, ND8 and ND4 filters stacked on the PC 28/3.5 @ 5.6 on the Fuji GFX @ ISO100.

I'm going to clean the sensor this weekend so that I can shoot past 5.6 without seeing all the hundreds of dust bunnies in the sky !

Anyway, here's the shot, usual X-PAN 65:24 in cam crop
