Did you ever see the F-101 #393 in the Rapid Aircraft Maintenance hangar at McClellan? That was my F-101 when it was with the 147th at Ellington. It was tough seeing it get axed to death, but it was training new mechanics in rapid aircraft repair in war zones.
Wow - small world, but no F-101's that I saw. I stared as an aircraft electrician doing mod's on the Guard's F-100's and the ADC's F-106. I ended up in flight test, calling pilots in to take the final product for a spin. They would go out of California, up the coast, then return 45 minutes later with a clip board with their notes.
The only F-101 I have ever seen was this one at Castle AFB Air Museum.
