I bought a new Sony NP-FZ100 battery. I'll be out to do the BIF v 2.01 battery drain test again soon to see the difference using a brand new vs old battery. This time w/ Power Save Start Time set to my normal 1 min vs 30 mins I used on the last test.
Morning BIF battery test follow up, w/ A1 v. 2.01 + G 200-600 v. 03 this time with BRAND NEW Sony NP-FZ100 battery ( manufactured six months ago)
-From 100% battery charge to 0% camera shut down in two hours twenty three minutes
-8279 Lossless Comp (L) RAW images taken same place, same birds, but a lot more aggressive on the shutter(Springtime = lots of birds coming and going preparing for nesting, nesting and feeding broods). Plenty to keep the shutter busy
-AF-C, Drive Mode H, CFexpress cards.
All shot electronic shutter and Power Save Start Time was set to 1 min.
Amazing results with a well used 2017 Sony NP-FZ100 battery (5858 frames) vs brand new Sony NP-FZ100 battery (8279 frames). Both lasted within a few minutes of each other--very impressive for the 2017 battery IMO
Big fish and thanks for the report! I just bought back an A1 on the B&S board because I regretted selling one of mine. It will be in my hand in a few days. The current owner said he hasn't updated it. I am debating whether I should update it, or wait for a while. my current A1 is at 2.01.
No, it's out out warranty. I don't use the wifi stuff, never tried it, probably never will. I haven't updated my several-month old A1 from FW 2.0 to 2.01 yet.
