For the past 15+ years I have photographed once or twice each year in Death Valley. (I've built up enough of a library that you can find some of my prints in the park and in books.) I went this year in mid-March. My main target was Lake Manly, the resurrected version of the ancient lake that once filled the valley. It came back to life following a tropical storm last August and later rains helped keep it going. Of course, another reason that Lake Manly was a focus is that many of the other places that I like to visit, particularly in the backcountry, remain closed and inaccessible.
Here's a first set of some photographs from this year's visit.
