I have the 28/1.4 AF-D and it's a nice lens although the manual focus experience is predictably not that great. I'm interested in getting a Nikon film camera that I can use with it, one that can drive the autofocus, but whenever I try to figure out which cameras are compatible I get lost. The other Nikon-mount cameras I have are all manual-focus (Nikon 85/1.4 Ai-S and Zeiss 35/1.4 ZF.2) and I'd like to be able to use those too. I had a few recommendations in the "Which Nikon Film Camera" thread but that was before I got this lens and was interested in trying it in autofocus mode. Any suggestions?
I had a Df and a D2x both which were capable of metering with the Ai-S lenses. Now that there is a metal latch kit to replace the plastic door latch on the F100, that would offer the flexibility you're looking for.
I think the same person makes one for the F80 as well?
I'm pretty sure he does. I just wasn't sure if the Ai follower would work with the N80.
